A 6 yo should definitely be wiping herself. Sounds like her mom overreacted when she heard about the other girl's UTI. Girls just have to be taught to wipe front-to-back so they;re not wiping poop into certain openings. It's pretty simple, and to say her daughter "can't be trusted" is strange.
