Hi there vegsourcers, I went veg at 13 and am nearly vegan now that I'm in my late 20's. I'm in a great relationship with a wonderful guy and we're currently exploring the idea of getting hitched. Among other issues, my diet and philosophy have come up. I have no intention whatsoever of raising my children with the idea that it is healthy, environmentally responsible, or ethical to consume animal products. My boyfriend has a problem with that. He's not a macho guy or anything silly, and he understands my reasons. He's even eating a mostly vegetarian diet at home anyway, and admits that he feels healthier and more energetic (and lost 20lbs!) He feels that his cultural associations (he's from new orleans) around animal consumption are just as important as my ethics. What do I do? This is a possible deal breaker for me. Has anyone else out there dealt with this? I have no one else to turn to who would understand how important this is to me. Any advice at all would be deeply appreciated.
