I suppose it really depends on the situation. I would think most of us would fight back. I
think if you are being attacked or raped then your instincts would try and get you away from
it. I think it would be worth while for people to take a self defense course that teaches you
about safety and confrontations. This would be a good way to avoid having to take violent
actions towards someone.

My 9 year old son surprised me when he was dealing with a bully at school. He has an
amazing, peaceful teacher who was working them through their problems. But, I told him if
the boy tried to hit him again that he should not feel bad about putting his hands out in front
of him and shoving a bit if need be. My son gave me a real talking to =)

It turns out that his teacher has really given them a wonderful example of how to resolve a
conflict. My son wasn't feeling better the other day and the this same boy asked him if he
was allright. The boy is not bullying my son anymore because he saw that it wasn't working
and that the adults around him were not going to allow it and that everyone likes him. Sadly
I think he has some major problems at home.

Does that help any? It's just a recent experience.
