Talking about "wiping out" people, whether they are "horrible" or not, is certainly not going to bring the world closer to peace. Wiping people out is one of the worst manifestations of a lack of peace. An important requirement for peace is to realize that all people are fundamentally alike. Yes, even the people you label as "horrible" are no different from the rest of us. What they do is horrible, but we all have the potential to do horrible things. Fortunately, most of us choose not to. The essence of morality is choosing not to do those horrible things. All the major religions of the world promote peace. Unfortunately, too many people pretend to be religious and use their pretended religion as an excuse for violence. The problem is not the religions themselves, but the pretense and the abuse of religion as a political tool. The solution is for more people to study religions, including not only their own but also those of other people, to learn the essence of their chosen religion, and to practise it sincerely. Doing so will help people see through the pretense and will teach people how much we all have in common. Doing away with crime would certainly be a good thing. But, I would suggest that crime is an effect of lack of peace, not a cause of it, and that crime will disappear when peace is established. Keith
