I hear you all, and I think that we all can afford to change a little. I try to do my part by voting and working for folks and issues about which I feel passionate. But I live in a place where "all those other Americans" are the ones who voted in the current miserable gov't (twice!). I wish the rest of the world could understand that W didn't win by that many votes either time, and that means that a goodly portion of this country does not buy into his war mongering. Don't lump me with the yahoos who voted for him. But is there more we can do? Of course! When such a small portion of the populace votes, you know it is time for some cleaning up to do in Washington and state governments. If we could only get the thoroughly disgusted to vote, a sea change would happen in government. And it is the government that is scorned by the rest of the world, as most people understand. It would be nice if, along with fashion, politics could emulate the late sixties and early seventies. Get a peace platform going and work for it. Get the younger generation involved (I know, I'm showing my age). I can't believe that there is no hope. I hope several times a day to keep my hope muscle working. We need hope as well as anger.
