People care? Yes, people do care, but they are blind. And lying to themselves in the process. Most Americans are too busy competing with the Jones. They become increasingly superficial. Ah, the western ways! Yes, they do care about seeking happiness and say they value their family, but they believe that this can be achieved through achievement, material gain, and prosperity. At all costs. Ah contrare. Families are neglected and falling apart. Look at what's happening to the kids nowadays! No discipline or morals instilled. Their values also become skewed. People are becoming increasingly empty, unhappy, and discontent. So they try to fill themselves with more material gain. Why don't people slow down and look inside themselves for peace and contentment? Why don't people give children what they really need, time, not material goods. And then we spend money on bombs, not helping the people in Africa and other third world countries. But it is nice that people have given to the tsunami. Hopefully the media will elighten people to the real needs of the world more often.
