Subject: Just a few questions. . . .

I am trying to sort out my own beliefs. I totally support the
pacifist stance and really believe in a nonviolent way of being, but
lately I have been confused about the whole Iraq/terrorist thing. How
do you get around the fact that they want to hurt us so badly?? Will
peace work if it is only onesided?? I look at my baby - just 2 months
old now- and I read about smallpox outbreaks and about nuclear and
chemical weapons and it makes me so scared. The only thing that gives
me hope is that I am sure there is another new mother on the other
side of the world worried about the safety of her own beautiful new
baby. How can we get the people in charge to step back?? Is the Bush
administration trying to scare us on purpose? Is this really all
about economic issues? How can we engage Iraq and terrorists for a
peaceful solution when they seem to be so against us and our "way of
life"? It all just seems so complicated. What can we do???
