Hi Laree, Thanks for your question, but this page only discusses nutrition as a career. I'm not sure there is a Vegsource page designed to discuss general needs for gastric bypass, and, in any case, individual needs are best reviewed in private with a qualified professional. If you've not yet had the gastric bypass, I would encourage you to reconsider the significant potential health and nutrition ramifications of gastric bypass; these could be more complicated on a vegetarian diet. If you are willing to consider working with a vegetarian dietitian to lose weight and keep it off, I do offer counseling services (by phone and email for those not in the Mid-Atlantic region). If working with me doesn't fit your needs, and your surgeon has no suitable dietitian to refer you to, you can visit eatright.org, click on "find a registered dietitian" in the top right corner, and follow the directions to find a local dietitian who specializes in nutrition to support gastric bypass.
