Jordan, Sorry for the extreme delay in my reply, and thanks for your question. There are no alternative accredited schools of nutrition, because most states basically accept as a standard whatever the ADA accepts. Bastyr (bastyr.edu) is an accredited school in Washington state which combines standard nutrition with some alternative theories. I don't agree with the ADA 100% either, but either we slog through accredited programs and accept the challenge, but come out with instant credibility, or we stay on the outside with no credibility whatsoever. I chose to accept the challenge. If you are passionate about nutrition, then I suggest you take the challenge as well. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Mark Rifkin, MS, RD, LDN
