Hi Aviva, Thanks for your question. Knowing that you haven't been in school for awhile, I would conclude you're older than 25. Thus, you'd rather get your new career started ASAP. I agree---there is no time to waste. The RD program will make you eligible for state licensing (if your state has licensing) and give you instant credibility to a large portion of the market. The IIN certificate will look good to a very small portion of the market, and will not get you a state license. Therefore, if you intend to go for an RD eventually, I would do that instead. Depending on your prior degrees (if any), where you go and the individual options available, that can take anywhere from 2 - 5 years. Without knowing the full detail of the IIN curriculum, I would guess whatever IIN content is not covered in an ADA-approved program can be self-taught (or you may already know it). In short, I wouldn't waste your time on IIN. It won't give you credibility with the larger part of the market (vegetarian/holistic nutrition being just a small portion of the available potential), and it won't be adequate for state licensing.
