I'm leaning towards starting with Nutritionist because it does not take as much schooling.
My view of the difference between the two of what I have seen them in todays world as is:
Nutritionist is someone that can help the everday person that does not have special needs, other than probably needing to lose weight,have a balanced healthy diet/lifestyle.
A dietitian is someone that can help people with special needs such as heart patients, diabetics, eating disorders, and other medical problems.
I am doing the Nutrition Specialist Program on-line with PCDI but still need to check with the state of NY as to what laws/requirements I would need in order to work in the field for money. I am going to be taking some nutrtion classes at the local community college also. I figure you can never have too much information.
I am very glad this message board was set up. You have been a very big help to me.
