I come from a debating family -- we can have loud, heated, vehement debates over a subject and then go play Scrabble or something. I tend to intellectualize and forget the human/emotional component to things.

For me it's as simple as showing me the facts. I get confused over the emotionalism (being attached to dairy or beef, although I get the addiction process to those things).

Perhaps I'll try a class and try approaching it from a "I really want to understand YOU" POV.
