Rima, It can, in theory, depending on your goals. In my opinion, routinely counseling patients on nutrition as a nurse would be challenging, as this is not (in my limited experience) a significant part of a nurse's regular duties. Exceptions would include nurses who become CDEs (Certified Diabetes Educators). However, if you'd like to be an example to overweight nurses, sure, it can work. Some nurses work providing training and health education to hospital staff. It all depends on your personal goals. Mark Rifkin
