Hi Rocket, Welcome to the new board. Actually, I was reluctant to return to school as well. I was 31 when I started, and it had been 8 years since my BA. I did feel as if I was taking a huge step into foreign territory. As I found out, many working adults are returning for career changes. One woman in my Master's program was 52! And it was definitely challenging, but I feel that this is what I was born to do. As mentioned in my intro article, I've accomplished more for the veg movement/animals doing this than in 8 years of passionate animal activism. Many dietitians are in private practice/consulting, but most work for clinical facilities (hospitals, nursing homes, etc.). In my opinion, the best opportunity to effectively influence behavior change is in the community/private practice setting. Private practice does make things more "interesting" but ultimately, more rewarding. Hope that answers your question. Mark
