I have enjoyed listening to your talk on evaluating packaged foods. I have noticed that you have based your major guideline on limiting % of calories from fat, as so many pundits do. My problem is that I have never read a scientific study that substantiates the need or result of limiting % of calories in food from fat. Specifically, what is the benefit to be obtained from doing so? Before I can accept this as a guideline I feel the need to see MAJOR studies showing unequivically that there is a beneficial effect if one limits % of calories from fat, as opposed to simply limiting overall calores , for example. Please send me a list of citations that substantiate the value in good health from following this guideline. Sincerely, Stephen M. Albers
