Thanks for your kind words.
I am not convinced by any of the recent data that grapefruit is
dangerous or should avoided. I love them and still include them in
my diet on occasion.
I think this is good example of why many believe (and rightfully
so) that health information is so confusing. The results of one
(or two) study(ies) should never sway anyones opinion but be
placed in light along with all the others on the same or similar
topic. In addition, the type, quality and analysis should be
reviewed as many studies that are poorly done get the same news
attention (if not more) than a study that is very well designed and
carried out. It should be consistent evidence in a variety of well
designed studies, that should direct us to change or modify out
behaviors. For grapefruit, i do not see this, but if I do, I will let
you know.
However, in regard to washing produce, I do not think the
grapefruit extract is giving you any added protection.
