taking the usda figures at truth will cause one to draw invalid conclusions about what diet one should eat.
such as
1 - thinking that certain diets are deficient (all raw vegan for example) in nutrients
(when in fact my contention is that the usda numbers for rdi are high and the nutrient values are often low since they are averages of conventional produce)
2 - eating foods because of their nutrient content as opposed to their suitability as food items can cause problems.
however i do agree that we are talking about the margins - final percentages of dietary contention that are not worth quibbling about for most people.
