Often people will comment with the line 'it's expensive to eat healthy'. I would say that actually it's rather cheap, as demonstrated yesterday when I visited one of my local fruit & vegetable shops. For $13 (that's Australian dollars which is about $14-15 US dollars) I purchased large three romaine lettuces, two kgs of tomatoes, two kgs of bananas and four kgs of red peppers. Some of these items were on special as they are in season. Meanwhile I noticed when I walked past the nearby supermarket that a couple purchased two cartons (six packets) of cigarettes for $73. Good health needn't be expensive. It looks as though I have plenty of veggies for some large salads over the next few days.
