in one of the centenarian studies on the Okinawans, they were shown to get ~34% of their calories from vegetables (and not counting starches, legumes, fruits). On a 1500-1600 calorie diet, of which they eat, thats around 500 calories. Another 34% from starches, grains and only around 6% from fruits.

think about that... 34% of calories from veggies.
