Maybe you know or can find out, after searching and searching I still have not found the answer! I soak (over night for normal small-medium size and up to two days for the giant ones in my ice box!) and then cook in a pressure cooker my dried beans with a strip of kombu. Do these beans take-up iodine? Are these beans now a source of iodine??? I read in a "sprouting" book, that if I were to soak quiona with kombu, it would absorb some iodine from the water. This question has been driving me nuts for years.
