Muir Glen Organic "Southwest Black Bean Soup," serving size 9.5 oz, 130 cal, 680 mg sodium. Far exceeds 1:1 ratio. Are only homemade soups acceptable? How about a relatively low-salt soup like that as part of a healthy meal? Not sure what to think about canned beans. Label presumably refers to entire contents, not drained & rinsed. E.g., Hanover kidney beans, 1/2 cup, 110 calories, 450mg sodium. Would the cited beans be OK, drained & rinsed, as part of a healthy meal? Of course I could cook from scratch, but that is time consuming and the canned no-salt beans taste "off" to me.
