I eat 10 meals in the school cafeteria, so I have not been able to avoid sodium altogether. I eat the canned beans and certain whole foods like brown rice, steamed vegetables and other prepared low fat whole foods. Plus I am struggling with wanting salt at times, especially in grains. I find whole grains give me a lot more energy then fruit. Plus it gives me a lot more satiety. I crash quickly when I eat mostly fruit, then I am tempted to grab unhealthy snacks. How does one adjust to even less sodium? I do not eat processed foods but rely a lot on canned beans. Plus at times I desire a soup or crave salt for seasoning when I cook. I have not yet adjusted to liking my oatmeal plain either. Will I get used to bland food or how do I lose the taste of salt altogether? I am not fond of cooking. Thank you. You were very helpful.
