I also juice a few celery stalks and use that to get the drink to blend. But just a little regular water added will also work. You need a little liquid to get the bananas and celery to blend. I use celery juice just to get more sodium into my drink, since I need as much as I can get to cover a whole marathon. I beat athletes who are better conditioned because of this "secret."
