>>Now I'm thinking that what you meant by that is just because something is vegetarian or vegan doesn't automatically make it healthy. Something of course I knew all along with all the crap processed food that is marketed as 'healthy' and/or vegan. Just because it comes from a health food store does not make it healthy. So is that the point you were trying to make?
It is one of the points! :)
Being a vegan does not automatically equate to being healthy, nor does the consumption of animal products automatically equate to not being healthy.
"Veganism" is a philosophy that includes dietary exclusions but not dietary inclusions. In regard to diet, it is more about what you do not eat, then what you do eat. So, one can be a vegan and live on junk food.
I am a health professional and not a vegan evangelist. Vegan may be my choice, but as a professional I must respect my clients and where they are and where they are willing to go. I can get most all of my clients dramatically healthier (and healthy) without insisting on them becoming a vegan, especially if they do not want to.
If they want to be a vegan, then I will help them be the healthiest vegan they can be.
Hope that helps.
In Health
Jeff
