I am not sure if you are asking if you should trust the package label or the CRON-O-Meter. The CRON-O-Meter is based on the USDA SR 21 and is the standard used in the industry. However, food labels are not based on the USDA SR 21 but analysis of their food product (usually).

There are lots of variations in labels and companies are allowed to round numbers up and down so I am less likely to trust a food label than I am the CRON-O-Meter.
