Hi Herman, Part of the issue here is you are asking me for my opinion on the potential "change" in a recommendation, without maybe understanding my position on the original recommendation or my opinion on the issue in general. I am not convinced that anyone needs to supplement with Vitamin D, in general. I disagree with random general supplementation, especially in a population like the USA which has incredible resources and availability of food. I think we should all maximize our "safe" sun exposure whenever we can. Vitamin D is fat soluble and can be stored up and last quite some time. However, if someone believes there is an issue, than in my mind, the proper protocol is to get tested. Then, if a problem does exist, than possible solutions should be discussed and a viable solution agreed upon between them and their professional health care person. This may include sun and/or sunlamps and/or supplementation. In Health Jeff
