>>>If I am reading you right, there is no need to drink at all if we're eating fruits and veggies. Correct? If so, problem solved.
I am not saying that as there is no one universal answer. However, a diet that is based on fresh fruits, veggies, starchy veggies and legumes will provide a large amount of water and could possible provide enough for someone depending on the individual situation and all other factors involved.
>>>The kids are fairly active.
Activity is one of those factors though even amongst athletes, many do not need to drink as much as previously thought or recommended. There are some discussions on this issue below in this forum.
>>I keep telling the girls that food is for nutrition and health, not for taste,
I think it is for both! :)
It is just that our taste buds have been perverted so we can no longer appreciate and enjoy the incredible taste of whole natural foods. When we stop consuming the other highly flavored foods, our natural tastes will return and we will thoroughly enjoy our food.
