Thanks! It answers at least one of my questions. If I am reading you right, there is no need to drink at all if we're eating fruits and veggies. Correct? If so, problem solved.

The kids are fairly active. One just got dropped from the basketball team as she is too short for the game and now, apparently, unlikely to grow much more. So I am trying to get both kids to try out for track and soccer, and with luck they'll get on at least one team if not both.

It's a long process of change, but I keep telling the girls that food is for nutrition and health, not for taste, and if we just keep at it, they will get the habit of eating what is good for them and not what they like. I'm not sure they believe me yet, but they will - already their friends are fat and they aren't!
