Over the last year or so, I've been trying to move my family's diet gradually to healthier choices. As in, we went from chips, to baked chips, to no snacking; regular desserts, to fat-free, sugar free desserts, to no desserts. The last challenge is drinks. My teen daughters were fine with trading lattes for black coffee in the mornings, and regular to diet soda. They look good in their prom dresses now and that makes them happy. Now I have phased out soda entirely. I don't want to replace it with juice or juice drinks - too high in fructose and calories. They won't drink water. They just won't. If it has no taste, they won't drink it. Right now, we are not drinking anything in the home at all, except for the morning java. Their school has no vending machines, so they aren't getting soda there. Is it okay just not to drink liquids? If they need to drink something, and it's not gonnna be water, what is the least-bad option?
