Greetings Pasta is a processed food and if you buy pasta made from white flour then it is a processed and refined food. Unlike many other processed foods though, pasta is not high in calorie density as it absorbs so much water into its structure when you cook it. The calorie density is more like other unprocessed unrefined intact whole grains. Choosing pasta made from 100% whole grains (Wheat, rice, etc) is the better choice as it will have more fiber and be more nutrient dense for the same calorie density. In Health Jeff
