As far as the food part of your question goes if you stuck to a whole food vegan diet which would automatically eliminate all flesh, dairy and eggs plus all processed food (almost anything in a package with an ingredient list) you would have it made. So basically your diet would consist of Fruit, Vegetables, Nuts, Seeds, and Whole grains. As well as being vegan it would also be a healthy way to eat. By having to read labels and counting calories and deciding what all those words actually mean in the ingredient list of packaged food it's so hard to stay truly vegan or far that matter just to eat healthy since you would be eliminating chemicals and preservatives, additives, food colouring etc etc. Day to day products, if you mean things like soaps and cosmetics I have seen lists on the net where they will tell you if they were tested on animals and Peta would be a good place to check that kind of thing out.
