Hi BJ My opinion on Teff is the same as any other whole grain, it can be included as part of a healthy diet. Injira bread is made from fermented Teff and is gluten free. While it is really hard to say from here, with the info provided, from the sound of it, your friend may have reacted to something else they eat with the injera or with the way the injera was made.
