Hi Dave My position is that I do not recommend the use of any artificial sweeteners. Period. :) However, if someone was to use them in a way as to only help them eat more healthy foods, as part of a transition, than the benefit of consuming more healthy food would outweigh any potential risk of the artificial sweetener. However, even then, the amount the use should be a bare minimum at most. The problem for most people is defining "moderation" as for most people, moderation is killing them. http://www.vegsource.com/talk/novick/messages/815.html http://www.vegsource.com/talk/novick/messages/215.html http://www.drmcdougall.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5666 In Health Jeff
