Yes, I think the parent company does matter to a lot of people and that is why they are not listed on the packaging. I just discovered (to my dismay) that Kashi is owned by Kellogs. Bleeeech! I am not a fan of processed foods but do use them occasionaly. Kashi is now definitely off my list.
