Given that air-popped popcorn will pop in the vicinity of 400F, are you suggesting that one should avoid all other whole grains (and other starches) that are raised to this fairly typical baking temperature? (and for a much longer period than popcorn remains this temperature). That doesn't seem to be where you were going with your original post, but I'm not quite sure how to conclude otherwise.
