The first time I tried to quit smoking,I used the patch only.Although it was very successful for my husband,it was not for me. My doctor prescribed Zyban. I took the Zyban 4 weeks before my second attempt to quit with the patch. Although the Zyban calmed me down, the patch had itchy results, and my blood pressure was rising.I was filled with energy.I had a plan. I kept busy, doing the things I always put off.But I still needed to sneak a cig, which elevated my blood pressure even more.So here I was paying for the patch,Zyban, and cigs, getting double doses of nicotine, and high blood pressure.I failed this one. My next move was informing my doctor. I had to start all over again. Get my blood pressure down. He then prescribed Wellbutrin. For 4 weeks I took the pill, planning my energy and diet. This time I bought Nicorett. And stopped smoking the very first day with no side affects, nervousness, itchy spots, cravings,or high blood pressure. The results were amazing.I thought my cravings would win over my attempts again. But to my surprize, the first day went like I had never even smoked a cig in my life.I had my teeth cleaned, and drank alot of O.J and lemonade. Treated myself to sugarless candy. And during my success as a non-smoker,I had this uncanny ability to smell all the nicotine in my house, clothes, and car. This was where my energy was released.I cleaned everything,my now sensitive nose found with nicotine on it. I have to say Wellbutrin and Nicorett worked for me.
