If your daughter is allergic to cows milk protein, she may be able to have sheeps milk yogurt. Our Doctor explained to us that sheeps milk proteins are different than cows milk proteins. They are easier to digest and made up differently. The Doctor also said that Goat milk protein is very similar to cows milk protein so stay away from goats milk products. There are also sheeps milk cheeses that she could have. Pecorino is sheeps milk and is great as a grating cheese for pasta (tinkyada brand brown rice pasta is great consistancy). There is a cheese similar to cheddar - but I can't think of the name right now - check around specialty stores. Just be sure it's 100% sheeps milk. Sometimes the cheese makers mix goats' & sheeps milk together. My daughter is allergeric to cows protein including beef, so it can be difficult. She is also allergic to wheat but not gluten, so she can have rye, oats, barley. First be sure of exactly what she's allergic to - proteins or sugar or what? Check this info out with her Doctor. We all love the sheep's milk yogurt. "Chatfield Farms" in Vermont makes one brand.
