I am lactose intolerant and have been able to consume dairy with lactaid pills (the lactase enzyme supplement). However, it does not work with cheese. I am able to consume any other dairy product with the pills, but not cheese (which is my favourite). So, do any of you know if cheese might have additional proteins, cultures... that other dairy products don't have, so it becomes intolerable even with lactase? I wonder if I have additional allergies for cheese besides lactose intolerance? Thank you.
