My son is allergic to milk protein so I can help! First, Lactose intolerance simply put is that your body is missing an enzyme that can't break down the lactose in milk. An allergy means that your body won't tolerate milk at all. So, lactose intolerance would be more like you have a sour stomach feeling after having milk or you have diarrhea. Milk allergy symptoms are more severe- severe diarrhea, vomiting, hives (or bad rash). However, if you have a milk allergy, there are hidden milk proteins in many things that you wouldn't think and they can tear up your insides (intestine, stomach, colon). You should go to an allergist so that you can make sure.
