One factor for optimal calcium absorption to the bone mass is the magnesium to calcium ratio. Milk is notoriously low in magnesium in relation to calcium while green leafy plants are higher. Good strong bones throughout life require a plant diet and excercise. Animal protein leaches calcium from the bone.
