Dairy-free means no milk, cheese, yoghurt, etc. It doesn't necessarily include no eggs, though many people who avoid dairy also avoid eggs. Dairy products come from cows, right? Where do the cows get the calcium to put into the milk? They clearly have enough to spare, since you don't see cows falling down and breaking their hips from osteoporosis. Cows get their calcium from eating grass! Eating greens is the best way to get calcium. Remember, too, that diseases like osteoporosis are not caused by a defficiency of dietary calcium. Otherwise, how could you explain that the people with the highest intake of calcium (Americans) have the highest rates of osteoporosis, and people with the lowest intake of calcium (in third world countries) have the lowest rates of osteoporosis? Osteoporosis is caused by factors other than low calcium intake: lack of suitable exercise for one, and high intake of protein, especially protein of animal origin (like in milk). Keith
