I would not use rice milk as a main protein source for small children however, I think that rice milk is far healthier than soy in particular in children. Soy, in the unfermented form, is a phyto-estrogen. It can mimic estrogen in the body- thus, when you start messing with hormones you need to be careful- in particular in regards to young children. Soy in moderation is okay but I think way too many people are using it way too much. The research done on soy in regards to cancer in Asia was on fermented soy- miso, tempeh, which is very good- not Isolated Soy protein... Plus, it can be hard to digest for a lot of people.Food for thought...
