Your baby needs to breast-feed. That will provide all he/she needs. If your wife refues to breast-feed the baby, then soy or cow's milk-based infant formula is the next option. This will provide what baby needs to grow, but unfortunately will not foster the brain and eye development that breastmilk offers. Breastmilk also helps your baby not get sick because of the antibodies in it from mother, and it fosters a stronger bond between baby and mother. You should not give an infant regular soy-milk. It is a very strong allergen for infants. It should not be given until the baby is at least a year old, but preferably it should be withheld until 18 months.
