I'm a substitute teacher for the Howard County School system, and I'm appauled at the school lunches. They are mostly this off white color. The meats are greasy, the starches are all refined, the fruits and vegetables are few and usually canned and overcooked. There is NO nutrition in them. The highly refined foods must make it difficult for the children to have steady blood sugar levels. The additives, preservatives, and chemicals aren't good for them either. No wonder there is such a problem with ADHD! Its mostly a cost effective way to feed the kids. High calorie, highly processed, and cheap and refined foods. If I knew how to help, I would. But this is the norm.
