Just wanted to say, Brenda is right about the animal thing, studies show that children who have animals around all the time have less allergies than those who do not.

Also, I'm not surprised about the dairy, dairy is the most allergenic food, following that would be wheat, soy, corn. But dairy is responsible for so many things, or at least exacerbates so many things, ear infections, GI problems, etc etc., it's amazing that people still think it's a necessary part of a human diet.

Take heart though, there are so many good ways to substitute dairy products and so much healthier, as discussed here, soy milk, almond milk, rice milk (i like soy and almond the best), there are wonderful cheeze sauces you can make at home that taste better than any commercial cheeze alternative, soy ice cream is yummy and you can also make your own ice cream using soy milk and other ingredients, as Brenda said, Earth Balance is an excellent margarine that contains no dairy. There is absolutely no reason to be or feel deprived. Good luck!
