You will have to get a blender. The liquid would leak from around the top of the food processor (where the lid sits on the bowl). Additionally, the shape of a food processor does not lend itself to effective pureeing ... the bits and pieces of solids get thrown off to the sides and tends to stick to the sides of the bowl. By comparison, the tall, narrow shape of the blender jar is designed to pull all the liquid and solids back down into the blades.

The good news is that you don't have to spend alot to get a good blender. Cooks Illustrated magazine regularly does reviews of equipment, and their blender review found the $39.99 Oster Designer Osterizer Blender preformed best in all their tests. In fact, the blender that did the worst was the $99.99 Kitchen Aid!!
