Subject: Tofutti cream cheese and vegan cheese

Ok, so maybe I knew less about going dairy free for my allergy than I thought.

I just found out that soya kaas (the cheese we have been using for ages, even before this allergy issue) has casein. I went to our local store and all their "veggie" cheeses had casein or whey. Can anyone suggest a truly dairy free cheese that will taste good and melt in a grill cheese sandwich?

And I bought tofutti cream cheese, which is dairy-free, but my son had a reaction. I think it might have been the "non-dairy lactose". Do any of you know what non-dairy lactose comes from?
