I was looking into this for the same diet...radioactive idodine and thyrogen injections for thyroid cancer....I looked up the ingredients and it has a soy based product in it. I have decided to use home made apple sauce as a replacement for butter or margarine in recipes (its the only thing I can think of) and am also thinking about adding some kind of thickner to the apple sauce if I need a thicker base for recipes. Be aware that the cook book on the thyroid website is for "low iodine" so check ingredients closely to go make "no iodine" recipes. Good luck to you
