I had duodenal ulceration at age 13. At 55, I have
been treated for proctitis for years, and more
recently GERD (G.I. Reflux Disease),but symptoms have
abated since reducing lactose in my diet. There is
some anecdotal evidence that GERD, Lactose Intolerance
and some cases of Inflammatory Bowel Disease may be
linked - but needs more research. Incidentally, I
found that Asacol made the IBD worse - it contains
Lactose like many other prescription drugs.
