Are you prepared to avoid ghee and the heavy creams often found in the food over there? I found a webpage of some vegan travelers that went there and did a write up on the topic of traveling India vegan. I'll try to dig it up for you. If I remember most of it was common sense though. Like how to order and what questions to ask the vendors and waiters, stuff you seem a veteran at already.

On the other hand, If your traveling companions don't watch that heavy cream and ghee, they might put on some serious poundage though hehe.
